Pollen, mosquito bites, and spilt beer… Yup. Summer is here. I know because I haven't stopped sneezing, and after my visit to Destinature Elbe Huts last week I counted 67 mosquito bites on my body. And yes, someone spilt a beer on me, but that's a story for another time.
Despite my body's apparent aversion to the sun (I'm blaming the fact I was shut inside for months), I am so happy to see blue skies and white fluffy clouds.
This month I have a holiday to Wendland booked, and I am checking out a glamping site in west Brandenburg (I will keep you all posted!). My other weekends are full of lake trips, hiking days and country restaurant plans: I'm desperate to make the most of every warm day with as many micro-adventures as possible.
What do you have planned that you're excited about?

Member spotlight: Fariya
To give you an insight into what being a member of The Staycation Collection is like, we spoke to Fariya, who has been a member since April 2021, and has already taken two staycations she found via us: one through our newsletter and one through the personalised recommendation service.
Fariya is a self-described “quintessential third culture kid that landed in Berlin 3 years ago after living and working on 4 different continents”. By day, she's a tax justice researcher and advocate, and by night, she's your neighbourhood bon vivant.
What was the last Staycation Collection trip you took?
I recently stayed at The Waterworks in Bad Saarow. It was super easy to get to from Berlin, had excellent facilities, and was situated in a charming town on a massive lake. My only wish is the Therme was open but it gives me an incentive to go again! What moment from that trip made you smile the most?
Having dinner and drinks by the lake! After a pandemic winter, this was the first sign that things were getting better.
